Silva to decide future after final Man City game amid Barcelona rumours
Bernardo Silva will leave Manchester City at the end of his contract this summer, but he is yet to decide where he will play next season.
Bernardo Silva insisted he does not know where he will be playing his club football next season following his departure from Manchester City this summer.
The 31-year-old announced he will be leaving City upon the expiry of his contract at the end of June, with John Stones also calling time on his City career next month.
Silva has made 457 appearances for the club across nine years since joining from Monaco, scoring 76 goals and providing 75 assists for the Citizens.
He has won six Premier League titles, five EFL Cups, two FA Cups, the Champions League and the Club World Cup.
The Portugal international could still add one more Premier League and FA Cup medal to his resume, depending on how the next three games pan out.
City face Chelsea in the FA Cup final on Saturday, while they trail Arsenal in the league title race by two points with two games to go.
Silva will play his last game for City on May 24, against Aston Villa at home, while he has been strongly linked with a move to Barcelona this summer.
Although he admitted he has a preference for a club for next season, Silva revealed he would only make the decision after his final City game.
"I don’t want to talk about names," Silva told The Athletic when asked about a potential move to Barca.
"I genuinely don’t know where I'm going to be. I just really want to enjoy and focus on my last games here.
"I told my agent I will speak to him on the 25th [of May], the day after that Aston Villa game.
"I can play at the highest level, which I still want to do, and where my family is happy.
"I have an idea and my preference [for my next club], but we'll see what happens."
