Ramos Apologizes to Madrid Teammate After Training Bust-Up
Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos offered an immediate apology to teammate Sergio Reguilón after lashing out at the Castilla defender during Monday training session.
Sergio Ramos took to Twitter on Monday to smooth things over after footage emerged of the Real Madrid captain losing his cool with Castilla's Sergio Reguilón during a training session ahead of Tuesday's Champions League clash with Viktoria Plzen.
The Real Madrid captain took umbrage with the Castilla left back after seemingly catching an elbow to the nose while trying to catch a ball during a drill at the club's Valdebebas training facility, and responded in kind by angrily blasting a shot at the 21-year-old.
Shortly afterwards, Ramos followed up by striking another ball at Reguilón from short range.
Ramos immediately posted an apology after the session: “Even though it might not look it, these kind of things happen all the time, but that is not an excuse. I shouldn’t have reacted like that. We always give it our maximum. Right, Regui? In the end, we win together! That’s an end to it and let’s go for it tomorrow.”
The youngster responded in kind with a message of solidarity: "I am always with my team and my captain. Let's get the win tomorrow!"
Real Madrid head into Tuesday's game against Plzen looking to end a five-game winless streak in all competitions.
