Located in the heart of Chile, Rancagua is a blend of country and city living and is surrounded by numerous vineyards which export the nation’s wines across the world.
STADIUM
El Teniente was one of the four stadiums used to host the 1962 World Cup, and featured the Group 4 contests involving Hungary, England, Argentina and Bulgaria.
Opened in 1947, the stadium was renovated in 2014 with the capacity increased to the current level where it can hold 15,600 supporters.
El Teniente – which means The Lieutenant – takes its name from the huge nearby copper mine and has been used to host matches in the Copa Libertadores, Copa Sudamericana and Copa CONMEBOL.
