Seru Rabeni, the former Fiji international back, has died at the age of 37.

Rabeni played 30 times for his country, including at the 2003 and 2007 Rugby World Cups, and featured in a famous 38-34 win over Wales in the latter tournament.

The back, who developed a reputation as a fearsome tackler, played for Leicester Tigers between 2004 and 2009, and the club expressed its condolences to Rabeni's friends and family on Twitter.

Many stars from the rugby fraternity also paid tribute to Rabeni, including 2003 World Cup final try-scorer Lote Tuqiri, who said he was "a great man taken way too young".
