Pittsburgh Steelers Progress In Play-Offs As Cincinnati Bengals Fumble
A fumble from Jeremy Hill cost the Cincinnati Bengals a memorable comeback victory against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Pittsburgh Steelers survived a fourth-quarter comeback to secure an 18-16 NFL win over the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC wildcard play-offs on Saturday.
After coming from 15-0 down in the final quarter to take the lead, a monumental fumble from the Bengals with 90 seconds remaining cost them the game.
Jeremy Hill dropped the ball and two 15-yard personal fouls cost Bengals the game, with
Chris Boswell hitting a fourth field goal to secure victory for the Steelers and passage to the next round, where they will meet the top-seeded Denver Broncos.
The Steelers snuck into the post-season thanks to a New York Jets loss in the final round of the NFL regular season, securing a spot as the sixth-seed in the AFC conference.
With Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton missing for a fourth-straight game, it was the Steelers who were favourite sto advance into the divisional play-offs.
In wet conditions at the Paul Brown Stadium, the scores were stuck at 0-0 after the first quarter before two field goals from Boswell had the Steelers 6-0 up at half-time.
Boswell settled for another field goal to make it 9-0 before Steelers' wide receiver Martavis Bryant scored the first touchdown of the game with just over five minutes left in the third quarter.
The Steelers defence remained strong until Jeremy Hill's touchdown brought the Bengals back into the contest a minute into the fourth quarter.
A field goal from Mike Nugent pulled the Bengals back to within five points before they hit the lead with under two minutes left in the game thanks to an A.J. Green touchdown.
However, a fumble with less than two minutes remaining spared Pittsburgh's blushes.
