The Genuine Broaster Chicken Honda team has announced that it is adding Californian Jayson Uribe to its team for the next three rounds of the Motul MotoAmerica Superbike Championship, beginning next weekend at WeatherTech Raceway of Laguna Seca. Uribe will team with Cameron Petersen on the team’s Honda CBR1000RR SP2s.
Happy to announce that I’ll be joining the @honda_powersports_us factory @motoamerica Superbike team with the @roadracefactory squad for the next three rounds! Excited to work with such a great crew, and to be able to race with some of my hero’s. A post shared by Jayson Uribe (@jayuribe36) on Jun 12, 2018 at 8:23am PDT
Uribe comes to the team with a wealth of racing experience. Having raced selected rounds last season in the MotoAmerica Supersport class as well as in his his full-time ride was with Team AGR in the Spanish CEV Moto2 Championship. Prior to that Uribe raced in BSB Moto3 Class and in the French 600 Superstock Series where he became the first American to win a race in the French Championship. With a proven ability to adapt to any platform quickly, Uribe is a prime example of the team’s desire to develop young talent in America.
Uribe has been spending his time this season adapting to the new Honda CBR 1000RR SP2 running in the AFM Championship. He brings an incredible work ethic and a strong desire to develop as a Superbike contender. For the first time since entering the Superbike Championship, the Genuine Broaster Chicken Honda squad will have a full complement of riders and crew to maximize points scoring potential.
“I’m very excited for this amazing opportunity to ride a superbike with Danny Walker and his amazing crew at the Genuine Broaster Chicken Honda team,” Uribe said in the team release. “Danny has helped me through many stages of my racing career, and to get the chance to finally ride for him on a proper 1000cc motorcycle is a dream come true. That being said, I’m entering the Superbike class with no expectations but to progress and develop myself and the bike. I am confident that with the support of the team, we can make great things happen!”
“Well we are finally ready to add a second rider to the Genuine Broaster Chicken Honda team and we have put a deal together with Jayson Uribe,” Walker said. “We have known Jayson and his family for a long time and they are truly a great racing family. Besides having a vast level of racing experience, Jayson sets the standard for 19 year olds when it comes to work ethic. If you have ever been to an American Supercamp where he has been an instructor, you can attest to this fact. Right now we are set to do the next three rounds and then see how things work for both the team and for Jayson. Our expectations for him are simple; have fun and learn.”
