The decision will see the newly promoted side sidelined for a second straight week after their matchday 8 fixture against Nantes was also postponed due to a number of positive tests.
A statement from Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) read: "After the opinion of the national COVID FFF commission, noting the certain absence of more than 10 players on the list of 30 RC Lens players due to a positive RT-PCR test for its match against Olympique de Marseille, the Competitions Commission of the LFP, acting within the framework of article 22.214.171.124 of the protocol for the organization of matches for the 2020-21 season, decides that the Ligue 1 Uber Eats matchday 9 game between Olympique de Marseille and RC Lens, originally scheduled for Friday, October 30 at 9 p.m., will be postponed until a later date."
