Isco Bemoans Lack of Opportunities Under Solari
Isco defended himself against criticism from Ruben de la Red by claiming Santiago Solari has deprived him of opportunities at Real Madrid.
Isco has taken his rift with Real Madrid manager Santiago Solari to Twitter.
Responding to criticism from former Merengue midfielder Ruben de la Red, the Spain international openly insinuated that he "does not enjoy the same opportunities" as his teammates under the Argentine coach.
In an interview with Diario AS, De la Red supported Solari's decision to use Isco sparingly, saying: "Real Madrid is a club that does not wait for anyone. Every player in the squad is good enough to take your place and so whoever isn't performing to the required level will be left behind."
Isco, taking exception to the accusation that he has been underperforming, wrote: "I completely agree with De la Red, but when you are not enjoying the same opportunities as your teammates, that changes matters... Despite that, I'm continuing to work hard and fight in the hope that those opportunities come! Hala Madrid!!".
Despite becoming a key figure for the La Liga outfit in recent years, Isco has generally featured as a bench player under Solari, making just three starts in 24 games under the former Castilla coach, who took the reins from Julen Lopetegui in October.
Solari has previously insisted that Isco has been left out of starting line-ups on tactical grounds, not because of a conflict of personalities, however, rumors from the Spanish capital suggest that the pair's relationship has deteriorated.
