Mohamed Salah Confident Over World Cup Hopes
Mohamed Salah suffered a shoulder injury in Liverpool's Champions League final loss but the forward expects to be fit for the World Cup.
Liverpool and Egypt star Mohamed Salah believes he will be ready to play at the 2018 World Cup despite suffering a shoulder injury during Saturday's 3-1 Champions League final defeat against Real Madrid.
The striker's hopes of making Russia suffered a serious blow when he fell awkwardly in Kiev following a tangle of arms with Madrid captain Sergio Ramos.
Early reports suggested Salah's prospects of going to Russia were in jeopardy due to the severity of the injury, with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp describing the preliminary medical exams as "not very good."
The Egyptian Football Association, however, moved to calm fears, claiming tests have shown the injury is not as bad as first suspected.
Salah is equally optimistic, stating that he is "confident" of his chances.
"Despite the odds, I'm confident that I'll be in Russia to make you all proud. Your love and support will give me the strength I need."
