The UCI has suspended Italian team Androni-Sidermec for a month after two of their riders failed doping tests.

In being banned, Androni-Sidermec have the dubious honour of being the first team to be sanctioned under new provisions set out by world cycling's governing body this year.

Last month, former Team Sky rider Davide Appollonio tested positive for EPO, while Fabio Taborre was this week found to have blood-booster FG-4592 in his system.

A UCI statement confirmed the team will not be able to enter international events from August 1 to August 30, although they are able to appeal the decision.
