2016 LA Tech Football Team Preview | #BeABulldog
Ryan Higgins takes the mantle of QB as Skip Holtz looks to improve on last year's second place finish in the Western Division.
After a resounding 47-28 win in last season’s New Orleans Bowl vs Arkansas State season the Bulldogs look to overtake them for supremacy in the West this year. LA Tech finished second in Conference USA’s West division in 2015 after posting a 6-2 record in conference play.
Under the guidance of head coach Skip Holtz the Bulldogs have compiled a 13-3 record in conference play over the past 2 seasons which is tied for the best conference record since 2014. Look for them to be in the hunt for the Conference USA Championship in 2016.
Players To Watch
Despite losing some valuable talent in the offseason, including three players to the 2016 NFL Draft, the Bulldogs will be leaning on some explosive seniors.
Offensively LA Tech will have WR Trent Taylor who is coming off a 99-catch campaign in which he piled up 1,282 yards and 9 Touchdowns on his way to earning 1st Team All-Conference USA honors.
On the defense you have the leader in the secondary and returning two-time All-Conference selection Safety Xavier Woods. In 2015 he tied for the team lead in Interceptions (3), forced two fumbles, and tallied 7.5 tackles for loss along with 56 total tackles.
