Allegri hails Dybala and Higuain after derby win

Massimiliano Allegri hailed Paulo Dybala as extraordinary after the Argentine's impact in Juventus' 3-1 derby win over Torino and also reserved praise for talisman Gonzalo Higuain.

Juve had trailed to Andrea Belotti's opener until Higuain's equaliser, and the game looked destined to end all square when Dybala was introduced with 19 minutes remaining.

However, Higuain struck his second, before Dybala created a third for Miralem Pjanic.

Dybala made his return from a thigh injury that had kept him out since October in the midweek Champions League win over Dinamo Zagreb, with fitness issues having restricted him to eight league appearances prior to Sunday's contest.

"Dybala is extraordinary and getting back into shape, although that will take time," he told Mediaset Premium. "It's understandable if Mario Mandzukic wasn't too happy [about being withdrawn], but at that time I needed more technical quality.

"Once the frenetic tempo calmed down a little, the quality ended up making the difference.

"We are improving and the injured players are slowly returning. With Pjanic, it was a bit of a wonky 4-4-2, because we only really had Claudio Marchisio defending.

"I'm happy with Higuain's play even when he doesn't score, because he makes a big contribution. I know he lives for scoring, but that's not the only reason he was signed."
