A largely superb Ederson ensured Manchester City did not revisit their Anfield nightmare but his error might ultimately derail a quadruple.
Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-min's late goal sealed a 1-0 home victory against Manchester City in an absorbing Champions League quarterfinal first leg. Quadruple-chasing City were not at their best as Spurs chased and harried Pep Guardiola's side for 90 minutes and they will rue Sergio Aguero's first-half penalty miss. Tottenham showed great discipline to preserve their lead and will now go to The Etihad next Wednesday with their hopes of a first Champions League semifinal appearance intact.
