Frenzel retains Nordic Combined crown with perfectly timed sprint in final event
German athlete Eric Frenzel timed his sprint perfectly to retain his gold medal in the Nordic Combined on Wednesday evening at the Pyongchang games.
Frenzel, 29 made a big move towards the end of the cross-country skiing event and that was enough for the German to seal the gold with a time of 24:51.4 Akito Watabe of Japan finished just behind in what was a repeat of the same one-two in the 2014 games in Sochi.
Lukas Klapper of Austria finished in bronze to complete the podium.
