Premier League champions Liverpool prepare for their toughest match of the group as they travel to Bergamo to face worthy opponents Atalanta. The reds currently sit at the top of the group D with Atalanta second, both teams will look to capitalize on this opportunity.

Liverpool has not been at their best in terms of performances in the campaign, however, they will not be complaining as they have managed to win both of their games so far. The first game of the group saw Liverpool edge out Ajax in Amsterdam. The second game saw the Reds picking up a sweeping 2-0 victory over Midtjylland, however, they will look to be more cautious given Atalanta’s dangerous attack.

With team news, Virgil Van Dijk, Fabinho and Matip give plenty of worries for Klopp when looking at defence as all three are injured, along with Alex Oxlade Chamberlain who is out with a knee injury. Spanish sensation Thiago Alcantara has been dealing with a knee injury and is doubtful to feature in this fixture along with Greek fullback Tsimikas with a thigh injury.

Atalanta has kicked off their campaign in good fashion scoring plenty of goals. A simple 4-0 victory over Midtjylland in their opening game followed by a 2-2 draw with Ajax. It is no secret that Atalanta is one of the most attacking sides in Europe, and will be looking to upset the odds against the English champions. 

Atalanta head into the contest with some absences, Piccini will not feature with an abductor injury. Caldara is out with a knee problem, De Roon and Gosens are also out of the fixture with groin and calf injuries
