Liverpool reached the final of last seasons Champions League, but it has not been all easy for the Reds as they progressed in second place in Group C despite losing to PSG & Red Star Belgrade.
Amazingly, Liverpool is currently on a four-game away losing streak in Europe so the pressure is on Jurgen Klopp to deliver at Anfield on Tuesday evening.
In team news, Liverpool is facing a defensive crisis with a number of key men out of the contest. The loss of Virgil van Dijk though suspension will be the biggest blow for Klopp, however, the German coach will also be without Dejan Lovren and long-term absentee Joe Gomez.
That could mean that Fabinho & Joel Matip could be called on as the makeshift defensive pairing at centre back. Although the familiar attacking trio of Salah, Firmino & Mane will be leading the line for the Reds
Liverpool Predicted TeamAlisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Fabinho, Robertson; Wijnaldum, Henderson, Keita; Salah, Firmino, Mane
Bayern Munich seems to be finding their form at just the right time as the season gets into the business end. After a slow start to the season, Bayern has cut down Borussia Dortmund’s lead at the top of the Bundesliga table to just two points. It would be no surprise if Robert Kovac’s side overhauled their rivals to win a seventh consecutive league crown.
In team news, Bayern will be without Thomas Muller who misses out through suspension. French winger Kingsley Coman was thought to be an injury absence, although it seems that the ankle injury he picked up against Augsburg over the weekend was not as serious as initially feared.
Robert Lewandowski has been inspirational for Bayern in the Champions League and leads the scoring charts with eight goals so far this season. The Polish international is likely to lead the line at Anfield and will be aiming to score in a fifth consecutive European game. Lewandowski will certainly fancy his chances against a weakened Liverpool backline.
Bayern Predicted Team Neuer; Kimmich, Sule, Hummels, Alaba; Martinez, Thiago; Gnabry, James, Coman; Lewandowski
