World number 186 Erakovic still in the hunt for Rabat glory
A semi-final with 2012 champion Kiki Bertens awaits Marina Erakovic following her victory over fellow qualifier Aleksandra Krunic.
World number 186 Marina Erakovic remains in the hunt for just a fourth WTA final and her first since 2013.
Erakovic saw off fellow qualifier Aleksandra Krunic, who dispatched of second seed Ekaterina Makarova in the previous round, in the quarter-finals of the Grand Prix de SAR La Princesse Lalla Meryem.
The New Zealander is ranked 63 places below Krunic, but looked comfortable as she secured a 6-4 6-4 win in 90 minutes.
Erakovic will meet 2012 champion Kiki Bertens, who was forced to a decider but ended up 6-3 6-7 (4-7) 6-3 winner against Yulia Putintseva, in the semi-finals.
The other last-four clash pits the only two remaining seeds against one another.
Timea Bacsinszky got off to a sluggish start against Johanna Larsson and had to stave off three break points before holding serve in the first game.
Having collected herself, the top seed surged to a 6-4 6-1 victory for a third straight win over the Swede.
Bacsinszky's opponent in the semi-final will be number five seed Timea Babos, who breezed beyond Pauline Parmentier 6-3 6-3.
