Wawrinka too good for Carreno-Busta in Geneva
Defending French Open champion Stan Wawrinka continued his preparations for the grand slam with another win in Geneva.
Stan Wawrinka remains on course for a morale-boosting pre-French Open tournament triumph after beating Pablo Carreno-Busta in straight sets at the Geneva Open.
The Swiss, who secured a stunning win over world number one Novak Djokovic in the 2015 Roland Garros final, wrapped up a 6-3 6-1 victory in just 53 minutes on Thursday.
He is now set for a semi-final showdown on home soil with Lukas Rosol, who came from behind to defeat Andrey Kuznetsov 2-6 6-1 6-0.
The other last-four match will see second seed David Ferrer take on Marin Cilic.
Spaniard Ferrer, seeking his first title of the year, was dominant in his 6-2 6-2 success over Guillermo Garcia-Lopez.
Third seed Cilic, meanwhile, beat Federico Delbonis 6-4 6-3.
