Rain delays Djokovic-Federer showdown
In the final year before a roof will be in place at Arthur Ashe Stadium, rain forced a delay to the men's singles final at Flushing Meadows.
The US Open men's singles final between Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer was delayed on Sunday due to rain at Flushing Meadows.
Arthur Ashe Stadium will have a retractable roof in place by the time New York hosts the final grand slam of 2016.
However, the court remains at the mercy of the elements for the time being and the top two seeds in the men's draw were made to wait as the heavens opened.
Rain has proved a frequent pain at the US Open over the years, with five consecutive men's singles finals taking place on Monday from 2008 to 2012.
This year's last-four matches in the women's singles were put back a day due to a poor forecast on Thursday, although the final still took place on Saturday as scheduled.
