Radwanska remains on course as Bouchard crashes out
Eugenie Bouchard was eliminated from the Shenzhen Open on Thursday to leave Agnieszka Radwanska as the last remaining seed.
Agnieszka Radwanska is the last seed standing at the Shenzhen Open after Eugenie Bouchard fell to Timea Babos in the quarter-finals.
Bouchard was playing her first last-eight tie since last year's Australian Open, having struggled for form before being sidelined by a concussion sustained at Flushing Meadows in September.
However, one break in each set was enough for Babos to come away with a 6-4 6-4 victory.
"Genie's a great player, and she definitely has more confidence and is playing a lot better than the couple months before, so I'm happy I was solid and managed the tough situations well," said Babos.
"Thankfully in the big moments I came up with good serves and aces, so it worked out well."
The draw has opened up nicely for Radwanska and she had little trouble seeing off Wang Qiang 6-3 6-2.
The top-seeded Pole is yet to drop a set at this year's tournament and won all nine of her service games against her Chinese opponent.
Radwanska has now won 20 of her last 24 matches and looks to be in good shape ahead of the first grand slam of the season in Australia this month.
Anna-Lena Friedsam - a 6-4 2-6 6-1 winner against Katerina Siniakova - awaits Radwanska in the semi-finals, while Babos faces Alison Riske, who beat Anett Kontaveit 6-1 3-6 6-3.
