DJOKOVIC CONTINUES STEPANEK DOMINANCE
World number one Djokovic has dominated Stepanek throughout his career and he continued that run.
The Serbian was largely untroubled by the veteran Czech, completing his win with an outrageous lob.
Awaiting him in the last eight is Berdych, who fought his way past American qualifier Ryan Harrison 6-4 6-7 (2-7) 6-4.
Wawrinka was too good for Sock in a 7-6 (7-3) 6-2 win, while Nishikori cruised past Ram 6-3 6-4 in just over an hour.
Raonic had no trouble against Jared Donaldson, sending down 15 aces in a 6-2 6-3 victory.
GOFFIN, TOMIC DEPART
David Goffin came up against the in-form Monfils, winner of the Citi Open, and suffered a 7-6 (7-5) 2-6 6-4 loss.
Bernard Tomic was left to rue missed chances, converting just one of nine break points to suffer a 4-6 6-3 6-4 loss to Kevin Anderson.
DIMITROV REBOUNDS, MONFILS EXTENDS RUN
Grigor Dimitrov has endured a difficult year, but he reached his first quarter-final since Istanbul thanks to a 6-3 7-5 win over Ivo Karlovic.
Monfils, meanwhile, made it eight wins in a row, backing up his successful Washington run.
RAONIC, DIMITROV CONTENT
Dimitrov and Raonic were largely pleased with their displays.
