Djokovic absent on damp day at The Boodles
Novak Djokovic missed the third day of five at The Boodles after taking a rain check as the poor weather disrupted the schedule.
Day three of The Boodles proved to be a damp squib as only one two sets were completed and Novak Djokovic was a no-show due to the poor weather at Stoke Park.
Djokovic lost his first match on grass against David Goffin in the exhibition tournament on Wednesday and the world number one opted to stay away a day later due to the poor forecast, which he feared would disrupt his schedule.
The Serbian was due to face Nick Kyrgios and although the Australian was able to start an encounter with Juan Monaco instead, the pair were forced off when the heavens opened.
Kyrgios had just taken the first set 6-4 when play was suspended in Buckinghamshire and that proved to be the final action of the day.
Jeremy Chardy had earlier taken a 6-3 3-2 advantage over John Isner when their match was cut short on a grey day, with Juan Martin del Potro, Gilles Simon, Borna Coric and Fabio Fognini not in action at all.
Meanwhile, Kei Nishikori beat Richard Gasquet 6-2 6-1 in the Tennis Classic at Hurlingham.
