Diyas dumped out of Japan Women's Open
Magda Linette, Hsieh Su-wei, Zheng Saisai and Kateryna Bondarenko booked quarter-final places at the Japan Women's Open on Thursday.
Another seed exited the Japan Women's Open on Thursday as Zarina Diyas went down in straight sets to Magda Linette.
Second seed Diyas was the highest-ranked player in the competition following Carla Suarez Navarro's first-round exit earlier in the week.
However, the Kazakh was well beaten by Linette, who carved out 11 break-point opportunities in the first set alone en route to a 6-2 7-5 success in Tokyo.
Diyas' defeat means only three of the event's quarter-finalists are seeded - Madison Brengle, Ajla Tomljanovic and Christina McHale.
Linette will face Hsieh Su-wei in the last eight after the Taiwanese recorded a 6-2 6-4 victory over Kurumi Nara, the last remaining Japanese player in the draw.
Zheng Saisai overcame a late wobble to beat Irina Falconi 6-4 6-2 - having served for the match at 5-0 in the second set - and book a meeting with sixth seed McHale.
The conqueror of Suarez Navarro, Kateryna Bondarenko, got past Jarmila Gajdosova in three sets and will face Yanina Wickmayer next.
