Eyeing his 18th grand slam, Roger Federer produced a superb display to beat Steve Darcis at the US Open.
An impressive Roger Federer dispatched of Steve Darcis in the US Open second round on Thursday.
The Swiss second seed was sublime as the Arthur Ashe Stadium crowd was treated to an exhibition of shot-making in Federer's 6-1 6-2 6-1 win.
Belgium's Darcis had no answers against a red-hot Federer, who finished with 46 winners.
Federer only lost 14 points on his serve in a stunning display of power, precision and aggression as victory came in one hour, 20 minutes.

Darcis held in the opening game of the match before Federer won nine straight, taking the first set and a 3-0 lead in the second.
Federer would break once more in the second, this time in the eighth game, as he started to cruise.
Darcis was growing frustrated by his lack of answers and it told as Federer rolled into a 5-0 lead in the third.
Federer completed his win by holding to love in the seventh game, and it was fitting that it finished with a winner as a forehand caught the baseline.
