Argentina or Croatia will begin Davis Cup defence at home
Potentially the last staging in its current guise, the draw for 2017's Davis Cup has pitted this year's finalists at home in the first round
Davis Cup finalists Argentina and Croatia have each been handed a home draw in the first round of 2017's competition.
A tense 3-2 victory over 2015 champions Great Britain put Argentina into November's World Group Final, while Croatia were inspired by Marin Cilic as they beat the French by the same scoreline.
Croatia will have home-court advantage for the showpiece clash, before starting next year's tournament on their own turf against Spain.
Argentina will host Italy, having beaten them in this year's quarter-finals, while Great Britain will begin their bid to reclaim their crown with a trip to Canada.
World number one Novak Djokovic's Serbia start at home to Russia, with the United States - the Davis Cup's most successful team - taking on 2014 winners Switzerland.
Next year's Davis Cup could be the last in its current incarnation, with the International Tennis Federation (ITF) confirming this week that plans were in place to alter the competition, with three-set matches and bidding for the right to host finals mooted.
World number two Andy Murray, who led the British victory last year, said of the plans: "With the neutral venue, I am not sold on that. I do love the home and away atmosphere that we get in the Davis Cup just now."
