Johanna Konta & Angelique Kerber ended day four of the Qatar Total Open with a three-set thriller which eventually saw the German star come back from a set down to seal a 1-6, 6-1, 6-3 victory.
British number one Konta started the contest on the front foot, and only lost one game to take the opening set emphatically 6-1.
Unperturbed Kerber, the number nine in world put the first set behind her and came back to level the game winning the second by the same 6-1 scoreline.
The German star improved as the third set developed and broke Konta early. That proved to be one of the decisive moments of the contest and Kerber served out the game to win the final set 6-3.
It was the sixteenth victory of the season for Kerber, and she will be rewarded with a match against world number one Caroline Wozniacki in the quarterfinals.
