Serie A: Genoa 1 Roma 1
Roma loose ground in the race for Champions League football following stalemate with Genoa
Roma missed out on the chance to close down fourth place Atalanta's lead in the final Champions League place following a 1-1 draw away to Genoa on Sunday. Claudio Ranieri's side thought they had the winner when Stephan El Shaarawy volleyed in after 82 minutes. However, Cristian Romero nodded in on 90 minutes for Genoa, with the hosts missing the chance for a winner with goalkeeper Antonio Mirante saving Antonio Sanabria's weak penalty effort.
The disappointing draw was further compounded as Atalanta battled back from a goal down to secure an important 3-1 win against Lazio. It means that Gian Piero Gasperini's side are three points ahead of Roma with three games left to play.
