Perfect Bradford soars with Eagles
Sam Bradford shone with the Philadelphia Eagles, while the Cleveland Browns and Minnesota Vikings picked up big wins.
Philadelphia Eagles fans would have been impressed after new quarterback Sam Bradford completed a perfect quarter in his team's 39-25 win over the Green Bay Packers in the NFL pre-season.
Bradford finished 10-of-10 for 121 yards and three touchdowns in a blistering opening quarter for the Eagles, who acquired the 27-year-old via a trade with the St Louis Rams.
Having not won a play-off match since 2008 and last reached the Super Bowl four years earlier, Philadelphia supporters may be daring to dream after watching Bradford tear the Packers apart on Saturday.
It may have only been the Eagles' penultimate game in pre-season but there was a lot to like about Bradford's display as he led the visitors 38 yards for a touchdown on the opening drive of the game.
Darren Sproles, Trey Burton and Brent Celek were the beneficiaries of Bradford passes into the end zone, while another Philadelphia QB Mark Sanchez was also solid, finishing 13-of-19 for 150 yards and two TDs.
Former Eagles quarterback Michael Vick looked good early but had to watch on as the Pittsburgh Steelers went down 43-19 to the Buffalo Bills.
Pittsburgh's Vick was four-of-five for 106 yards before being benched, while EJ Manuel (7-of-8, 170) and Tyrod Taylor (12-of-13, 122) impressed for the Bills.
The Cleveland Browns cruised past the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 31-7, while the Minnesota Vikings defeated the Dallas Cowboys 28-14, the New York Jets triumphed 28-18 over the New York Giants and the Cincinnati Bengals prevailed 21-10 against the Chicago Bears.
The Washington Redskins won 31-13 over the Baltimore Ravens, the Seattle Seahawks edged out the San Diego Chargers 16-15, the Indianapolis Colts defeated St Louis 24-14, the Denver Broncos trumped the San Francisco 49ers 19-12 and the Miami Dolphins overcame the Atlanta Falcons 13-9.
Injury Review
Browns quarterback Andy Dalton left Cincinnati's game against the Bears with a sore neck, while Jets defensive end Leonard Williams suffered a shoulder injury against the Giants.
Rookie Report
After a solid showing in week two of the pre-season, Jameis Winston and the Bucs struggled against the Browns.
The top overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft completed just six-of-15 pass attempts, threw an interception and was sacked four times.
Cincinnati's AJ McCarron is not technically a rookie - he was drafted out of Alabama last year - but he did not play at all in 2014 due to shoulder problems.
The 24-year-old quarterback had a big game for the Bengals, completing 12-of-17 passes for 149 yards and one touchdown after Dalton left injured.
