England coach Eddie Jones says he will impose a media ban on himself ahead of the crucial Six Nations contest against Wales after courting controversy for comments he made regarding the fitness of Ireland's Jonathan Sexton.

Australian Jones has a reputation for straight talking and he made headlines for suggesting that Sexton's parents would be worried by his health due to the 'whiplash' style injury he sustained against France and his history of concussion injuries.

Jones, who saw his side make it three wins out of three by beating Ireland 21-10 at Twickenham on Saturday, insists he has no regrets about the remarks.

However, the former Japan coach plans to let opposite number Warren Gatland do the talking in the build-up to England's clash with Wales on March 12.

"It's a sideshow, the main event has just gone past. I'm not talking about the sideshow anymore," Jones said when questioned on Sexton after the game.

"From this press conference onwards I'm putting a media ban on myself for scaremongering.

"If I don't say anything you come away from the press conference saying it was boring, if I do you say it was scaremongering.

"I don't regret saying anything. It was quoted by Ireland that he had suffered whiplash. I don't regret it.

"I'm putting a self-imposed media ban on myself before the Wales game. I will leave that to Warren Gatland, he's pretty good at it."
