Australia captain Michael Clarke was unwilling to give anything away about selection ahead of Saturday's meeting with Bangladesh.

Cyclone Marcia hit Queensland on Friday, throwing the Cricket World Cup clash - due to be played at the Gabba - into doubt.

Clarke, who sent his well wishes to the people of Queensland, said a team had been selected but could change if the game was shortened.

"We’ve selected a team but I’m not going to announce it today in case the format of the game changes," Clarke said.

"So if it becomes a 40-over game, a 20-over game whatever it is that gives the selectors options if they want to change the team, so I don’t think it would be smart of me to announce that right now."

Clarke insists he is "ready to play", dismissing suggestions another week off would be good as he returns from a hamstring injury.

Australia lost to Bangladesh in 2005 and Zimbabwe last year, and Clarke is wary of what his team's attitude needs to be ahead of Saturday's match.

"I think attitude probably sums it up. I think it's a good example that you can't [take] any team lightly," he said.

"Cricket is a tough game and as batsmen you see that regularly you find yourself getting out to a delivery or a shot that is a lapse in concentration more than an absolute pearler of a delivery so I think if you've got the right attitude, you give yourself the best chance.

"And then there's enough individual talent in all the teams playing at this World Cup that if somebody has their day in the sun it's really hard to stop them."
