The Tampa Bay Buccaneers invited Heisman Trophy winner Marcus Mariota to visit their facilities on Monday, despite being heavily expected to use the first overall pick of this year's NFL Draft on Florida State's Jameis Winston.

Mariota and Winston, who won the Heisman in 2013, are the top two quarterbacks in this year's draft class – with Tampa Bay eyeing a spark to their roster after recording a miserable 2-14 in 2014.

Winston won a national championship in 2013 and had the Seminoles in the inaugural College Football Playoff last season before losing to Mariota's Oregon Ducks in the semi-finals. 

Mariota threw 105 touchdowns during his Oregon career with just 14 interceptions. He tossed for 4,454 yards last year with 42 touchdowns and only four interceptions. 

Buccaneers coach Lovie Smith said at the NFL Combine that he likes both quarterbacks, but widespread reports claim that Tampa will select Winston, whom the team had in for a three-day visit earlier in the month.

The Draft for 2015 will begin on April 30.
