Alisson signs on with Liverpool
Liverpool sign Brazilian number one Alisson for a world-record fee
Liverpool has confirmed the signing of Brazilian international keeper Alisson from Roma. The Reds revealed the signing of the stopper late on Thursday evening. Earlier in the day, Roma confirmed that the keeper is to leave the side, with a world record fee for a goalkeeper agreed with Premier League team Liverpool.
Roma took to Twitter to thank the 25-year keeper, who has passed a medical with the Merseyside team and is about to pen a five-year deal. The reported fee for the services of Allison is thought to be £66.9m, which will smash the current world-record tally which was previously held by Manchester City for Ederson.

The move for the Brazilian international, who played in five of Brazil’s games at the World Cup will likely signal the end for Loris Karius, who made to major errors against Real Madrid in the Champions League final. Earlier in the week former Liverpool boss, Graeme Souness called for the German stopper to be dropped, otherwise, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp would face the consequences if he made another high-profile error.
Alisson will join the likes of Naby Keita, Fabinho & Xherdan Shaqiri as the new faces in the side. Liverpool starts their Premier League season with a tie against West Ham United.
