Mo Farah has confirmed his main target in 2015 is further World Championship success, as opposed to a tilt at the 5,000m and 10,000m world records.

Farah broke the indoor two-mile record in Birmingham on Saturday, shaving almost a second off Kenenisa Bekele's previous mark.

Bekele holds the best times in the 5,000m (12:37:25) and 10,000m (26:17:53) and although Farah -  the reigning Olympic, world and European champion over both distances - remains open to challenging those records, he has made it clear his primary focus is on the 2015 World Championships in Beijing.

"I don't rule it out," he is quoted as saying by The Guardian when quizzed on the prospect of seeking an outdoor world record.

"But the World Championships is the priority."

Farah has yet to decide whether he will delay switching his focus to the marathon until after London has staged the 2017 World Championships.

He admits to being seduced by the possibility of racing in his home country's Olympic Stadium once again.

"Having the 2017 World Championships in this stadium is incredible, but I’ve just got to take one year at a time," he added.

"I’m not getting any younger. My dream is to see what I can do at the Olympics and then after that we will see what direction I am going to go, if I’m going to have another year on track or go towards the roads.

"But it would be awesome to be able to get back in that stadium in a proper championship."
