Taylor ties up move to Catalan Dragons
Dave Taylor will continue his career in Super League after agreeing a deal with Catalan Dragons
Catalan Dragons have bolstered their pack for next season with the signing of giant forward Dave Taylor.
The 27-year-old - who won a solitary cap for Australia in 2012 - was contracted to the Gold Coast Titans for the 2016 season but has been allowed to leave early to continue his career in Europe.
Taylor has also played for Brisbane Broncos and South Sydney Rabbitohs in the NRL, as well as making eight appearances for Queensland in the State of Origin series.
"I am very pleased to begin this new stage in my career and I am excited to join the Catalans Dragons," he told the club's official website.
"I have always wanted to play in the Super League and I could not ask for more than the Dragons. Ash my wife and our two daughters are very happy at the idea of coming to live in as beautiful city as a Perpignan."
Coach Laurent Frayssinous believes the addition of Taylor is a major coup for the French club, who have also recruited half-back Richard Myler and utility back Pat Richards for 2016.
"The signing of Dave Taylor is great news for the club and for the entire competition," Frayssinous said.
"We are delighted to attract a player of his class in the Super League. His arrival will allow us to take a further step."
