Racing stun Toulon in Top 14 opener
Racing Metro produced a superb second-half fightback to beat Toulon 27-22 at Stade Moyal in the opening fixture of the new Top 14 season.
A stunning second-half performance from Racing Metro earned them a hard-fought 27-22 victory at Toulon in Friday's season-opening Top 14 clash at Stade Mayol.
European champions Toulon led 16-11 at the break - thanks solely to Jonathan Pelissie, who marked his debut for the club by scoring all 22 of their points through a converted try and five penalties.
But Racing responded in style after the interval, scoring 16 points to Toulon's six to claim a superb win.
Maxime Machenaud was the star of the show for Racing, racking up 17 of the visitors' points with his trusty boot.
Henry Chavancy and former Toulon full-back Chris Masoe - who moved to Stade Olympique Yves-du-Manoir last month - crossed for the visitors' tries.
