Pair stripped of Rio 2016 medals after failing drugs tests
Positive drug samples supplied by Gabriel Sincraian and Misha Aloian at Rio 2016 have resulted in them losing their Olympic medals.
Romanian weightlifter Gabriel Sincraian and Russian boxer Misha Aloian have been stripped of their Olympic medals from Rio 2016 after failing drug tests.
A ruling made by the Court of Arbitration for Sport on Thursday deemed the pair to have committed anti-doping rule violations in Brazil.
Sincraian, who only returned from a two-year ban in 2015 after testing positive for stanozolol, won bronze in the men's 85 kilogram category, but the result has now been expunged from the records.
Aloian has lost his silver medal from the men's under 52kg boxing competition after tuaminoheptane was found in a sample he supplied.
