Blues, Islanders win in OT
Vladimir Tarasenko saw the St Louis Blues to their latest NHL win as the New York Islanders also needed overtime.
The St Louis Blues continued their impressive form in the NHL as the New York Islanders won in overtime.
The Blues made it six wins in seven games courtesy of a hard-fought 4-3 overtime victory against the Dallas Stars.
The Islanders needed overtime to secure their win as they edged past the Calgary Flames.
TREMENDOUS TARASENKO
The Blues gave up numerous leads before getting past the Stars.
Robby Fabbri and Alex Pietrangelo put them 2-0 ahead, but that lead was cancelled out by Jamie Oleksiak and Jamie Benn.
David Perron put the Blues in front once more, only for Oleksiak to tie the game with 50 seconds left.
But a 10th goal of the season from Tarasenko would see the Blues secure their win in OT.
HICKEY HEROICS
The Islanders went ahead through John Tavares seven minutes, 28 seconds into the first period against the Flames.
However, Sean Monahan scored early in the third for the Flames at the Barclays Center.
But Thomas Hickey would net the winning goal in the second minute of OT.
CANADIENS FACE DUCKS
The Montreal Canadiens (16-4-2) are out to extend their winning streak to three when they face the Anaheim Ducks (10-8-4) on Tuesday.
