Bills OL coach charged with battery
Buffalo Bills' Aaron Kromer has made headlines for the wrong reasons after his arrest on Sunday.
Buffalo Bills' new offensive line coach Aaron Kromer has been arrested and charged with misdemeanour battery with intent to cause bodily harm after allegedly punching his neighbour's son.
According to a Walton County Sheriff's Office press release, via Facebook, the alleged assault took place early on Sunday morning.
Kromer confronted three boys who had been fishing on the beach regarding some chairs, the Sheriff's office said, before, it is claimed, he threw their fishing rods into the water, pushed one to the ground and punched him.
The apparent victim allegedly said Kramer told him he would kill his family if he reported the incident to the police.
Kromer was arrested overnight and bonded out of the Panama City Beach jail soon afterwards. However, police are still investigating, and other charges could soon be filed.
"We are aware of the report and in the process of gathering the facts," the Bills said in a statement to ESPN.
The incident is not the first time the assistant coach has made headlines. While with the Chicago Bears last season, Kromer publicly criticised quarterback Jay Cutler, saying the team had "buyer's remorse" for extending the quarterback earlier in the year. He later apologised to the players.
Kromer, 48, was hired by the Bills after leaving the Bears following last season's 5-11 finish.
