Olympic gold medallist Palmer provisionally banned
Australian swimmer Kylie Palmer has been provisionally suspended, pending a tribunal hearing regarding an alleged doping breach.
Olympic gold medallist Kylie Palmer has been provisionally suspended due to being notified of an alleged anti-doping breach.
Palmer, who was a part of Australia's winning 4x200m freestyle team at the Beijing Olympics in 2008, has subsequently withdrawn from the FINA World Championships in Kazan to start in July.
The breach was alleged to have been detected from samples taken when Palmer was competing at the 2013 FINA World Championships in Barcelona.
Palmer won silver as part of the 4x200m freestyle team at the event in Spain.
The 25-year-old, also a silver medallist in the 4x200m in London, is awaiting action from the FINA Doping Tribunal - but prior to her hearing, the provisional suspension will remain.
