Kvyat delighted with 'essential' test
Toro Rosso's Daniil Kvyat was happy to get over 100 laps under his belt in the Barcelona test as he gets to grips with a new car.
Daniil Kvyat hailed an "essential" outing with Toro Rosso at the Barcelona test as he looks to reignite his Formula One season.
Kvyat was dropped from Red Bull to sister team Toro Rosso and replaced by Max Verstappen, who promptly became F1's youngest race winner at the Spanish Grand Prix.
Though Kvyat finished 10th, he was lapped by Verstappen to complete an ignominious week.
The Russian was back behind the wheel in Barcelona on Wednesday, completing 116 laps at the Circuit de Catalunya, which he believes will stand him in good stead.
"I think today was a very productive and good day," he said.
"We completed a big amount of laps, all of which are useful for both myself and the team. We will analyse all the data we've gathered and we will already be able to use this valuable information in the next events, starting with Monaco.
"Barcelona is a very good track to test at and a lot of the work we got done twill hopefully work on the car as we expect.
"All in all, it was quite an important day for myself today, as being able to get time in the STR11 was essential, and I now feel much more confident and ready for Monaco."
