Bottas: Williams relationship strained
Valtteri Bottas emerged as a possible replacement for Kimi Raikkonen at Ferrari until the latter was retained on Wednesday.
Williams driver Valtteri Bottas admits his relationship with the Formula One team has been affected as a result of ongoing speculation linking him to the Ferrari seat next season.
Raikkonen - due to come out of contract at season's end - was retained by Ferrari on Wednesday, ending reports that Bottas could join four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel at the Italian manufacturer.
Speaking ahead of Sunday's Belgian Grand Prix, 25-year-old Bottas said: "For sure it doesn't do any good to me and the team's relationship. It is not fair for us those kind of rumours.
"Nothing has changed for me since the news yesterday. Yes, I have signed a contract for this year, but as for next year we are still in discussion so there is no confirmation about that."
Williams have an option to extend Bottas' contract to 2016.
Bottas is fourth in the drivers' standings this season - 125 points adrift of championship leader Lewis Hamilton - with a podium finish at the Canadian Grand Prix.
