Mario Balotelli posted a rant on Instagram on Tuesday, the Liverpool striker hitting out at his critics.

Following Luis Suarez's move to Barcelona following the World Cup, Balotelli was brought to Liverpool by Brendan Rodgers as he looked to fill the hole left by the departed Uruguayan.

So far, though, the Italian's return to the Premier League has seen him score just once in the English top flight.

Balotelli has shown he has no time for the critics, as he hit out at them in his video: "Do you know me? Did you ever talk to me, personally? Do you know what I've been through in my life?

"You just saw me play football on the pitch so, man, shut up."

The post is captioned: "For those with an easy judge without knowing s*** about others. Good night #idowhatiwant-remember!"

Balotelli courted criticism from Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard when he took penalty duties from Jordan Henderson in a UEFA Europa League clash against Besiktas.

Illness kept Balotelli out of squad for the Reds' win over Swansea City on Monday.
