FIFA President Gianni Infantino has hailed the Qatari government and the steps they have taken to improve workers rights in the country. Speaking on a visit to Lusail stadium, the FIFA boss praised the 2020 World Cup organisers for changing labour laws in the Gulf state.
"It's an amazing achievement, crucial steps that had been made in this country, they not just send a strong message but they show it’s about actions and facts not just communication and big speeches."
After inspecting the facilities at the stadium, which will host the 2022 FIFA World Cup final, Infantino could not hide his excitement of being at the venue. "When you see the vibes that this stadium gives you, ..it’s magic!"
Due to the compact nature of the tournament, fans can see multiple games in one day, something for Infantino which will go down in history for a World Cup. "You can attend four matches on the same day, this is unique and will remain unique forever in the history of the World Cup."
