Mustafizur earns Bangladesh recall after injury
Bangladesh have named Mustafizur Rahman in their 15-man squad for the opening ODI with New Zealand in Christchurch on Monday.
Mustafizur Rahman has been named in Bangladesh's squad for their opening one-day international with New Zealand after six months out with a shoulder injury.
The 21-year-old has not featured for Bangladesh since the World Twenty20 in March and underwent surgery to correct the problem in his shoulder suffered playing country cricket in England with Sussex.
Mustafizur was included in the Tigers' training camp prior to their tour of New Zealand and has proved his fitness to be in contention to play the opening ODI in Christchurch.
He makes up a 15-man squad named by Bangladesh on Tuesday, a group that also includes a return for Rubel Hossain and maiden ODI call-ups for Mehedi Hasan, Tanveer Haider and Subashis Roy.
"We have kept the backbone of a settled squad that has been very successful over the last two years," said chairman of selectors Minhazul Abedin.
"But at the same time it is also important to get players in who we believe have plenty of potential to perform at the highest level.
"Tanbir [Hayder] has been a consistent performer in domestic cricket and gives a different dimension to our attack as he is a genuine leg-spinner. He has also impressed the coaching team during the camp in Australia."
Off spinner Mehedi is included for what could be his 50-over international debut, the 19-year-old having made a stunning start to his Bangladesh career with 19 wickets in two Tests with England.
