Bangladesh reached the Cricket World Cup quarter-finals with a 15-run win over England on Monday, a success captain Mashrafe Mortaza dedicated to their fans.

Batting first in Adelaide, Bangladesh posted 275-7, thanks largely to a superb 103 from Mahmudullah, who became the first Bangladesh man to reach three figures in a World Cup match.

He was well backed up by Mushfiqur Rahim, who struck 89, before Bangladesh held their nerve in a thrilling finale to bowl England out for 260 and eliminate their opponents from the tournament.

"I feel very proud and a special thanks to the team management and coaching staff, and of course to the boys as well," Mortaza said.

"Mahmudullah scored his first hundred for Bangladesh, and Mushfiqur was also brilliant at the end. I think Rubel Hossain will be very happy now as he picked up four crucial wickets.

"I'm really happy for all those people back home who have wanted us to make it this far. This is for you guys."
