Jason Holder hopes West Indies will get more help from the WACA surface versus India on Friday after their heavy Cricket World Cup defeat against South Africa.

The Proteas plundered 408 runs from their 50 overs in Sydney on February 27, with seven West Indies bowlers struggling to contain a batting line-up inspired by AB de Villiers' 162 not out.

Holder suffered more than most as his 10 overs went for 104 runs, but, after six days to get the match out of their system, the 23-year-old is confident Perth can be a happy hunting ground.

"Traditionally the WACA presents a lot of bounce and pace," he said. "I've played here before and enjoyed the conditions here. 

"I'm sure tomorrow will be no exception to that but having said that you still have to use the conditions in your favour. 

"It's important you just hit good areas and a good ball is a good ball at any batsmen on any given day so I think the more good balls we string together the better we will be."

Having witnessed De Villiers at his best in their previous match, West Indies now face an India side that has already seen Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli hit hundreds.

"They have some good players and some in form," he added. "I back my bowlers to execute their plans and set them on the back foot. 

"They have a good batting line-up and some quality players. We've planned for them and we're just looking to execute our plans.

"We've just got to be a little disciplined and specific with what we want to do at particular stages in the game and just execute. That's the key."

The Windies are third in Pool B with two wins from their four matches, while India go into the clash in Perth with a perfect record in the tournament so far.
