Bayliss hoping Bell prolongs England career
England batsman Ian Bell plans to assess his international career following another successful Ashes series.
England coach Trevor Bayliss is hoping Ian Bell will play on amid uncertainty surrounding the batsman's future.
Bell told the BBC's Test Match Special he plans to assess his international career after England defeated Australia 3-2 to reclaim the Ashes.
The 33-year-old scored just 215 runs throughout the five-match series at 26.87. Bayliss is unaware of Bell's intentions but wants the veteran to carry on playing.
"He certainly hasn't said anything to me," said Bayliss.
"This series, on the back of a long summer, the emotional roller coaster is hard for the players.
"I think at the back-end of a series like this, they can feel a bit down. Let's hope with the celebrations into the night, that changes."
