Bayern Munich again without Martinez
Bayern Munich midfielder Javi Martinez could be sidelined for several weeks with a renewed knee problem, German media reports said Sunday.
The Spain international has only recently returned to the team after a long lay-off following surgery on a cruciate ligament tear in his
left knee.
Martinez, 27, has complained this week of problems with the knee, according to the online site Sport1.
Sky television and Sport Bild also reported the Martinez injury problem. There was no immediate confirmation from Bayern Munich, who
play Hoffenheim at home later Sunday.
According to Sport1, Martinez is not in the squad and will also miss Champions League last-16 matches against Juventus in February.
Bayern have several players out injured and have lost central defender Jerome Boateng for a lengthy period with a groin muscle
tear. Martinez was seen as a candidate to replace Boateng in central defence.
