Warriors rout Lakers, Clippers beat Trail Blazers
The Golden State Warriors crushed the Los Angeles Lakers, while the Los Angeles Clippers defeated the Portland Trail Blazers.
Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson starred as the Golden State Warriors routed the Los Angeles Lakers 136-97 on Thursday.
Curry and Thompson scored 24 points apiece for reigning NBA champions the Warriors, who closed out their pre-season campaign with a win.
Last season's league MVP Curry made nine of 14 shots and had 10 assists in the comprehensive
Harrison Barnes added 23 points for the Warriors.
The Lakers were led by Louis Williams' 19 points.
A strong last quarter from the Los Angeles Clippers saw them record a 115-109 win against the Portland Trail Blazers.
The Clippers overcame a 28-point first-quarter deficit and rallied from 18 points down at half-time to trump the Trail Blazers.
Blake Griffin posted 22 points but Paul Pierce starred with 14 of his 19 points in the final quarter.
In other results, the Utah Jazz secured a 98-78 win over the Denver Nuggets.
C.J. Miles scored 20 points as the Indiana Pacers beat the Charlotte Hornets 98-86.
Frank Kaminsky scored 19 points for the Hornets in what was their first loss in pre-season.
Meanwhile, Jared Sullinger helped the Boston Celtics past the New York Knicks a 99-85.
