'Really angry' Bryant told to skip practice
A "really angry" Kobe Bryant was told to take some time off by the Los Angeles Lakers.
Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant was given Monday off after a frustrating start to the NBA season.
Coach Byron Scott told reporters Bryant was "really angry" at himself after his poor shooting continued on Sunday.
Bryant went three-of-15 from the field in the Lakers' 103-93 loss to the Dallas Mavericks.
Scott said he wanted the 37-year-old to take time away from basketball.
"I told him, 'I just want to see you Tuesday morning,'" he told reporters.
"So I've just given him the day off to recover. I know he's frustrated.
"I want him to just take a day off, kind of get away from it for a little bit, come back and he'll be ready tomorrow."
Scott added he hoped to see Bryant play in about 60 games this season, taking some games off for rest.
In other Lakers news, rookie Larry Nance Jr. broke his nose in practice.
